As part of National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, Walmart is supporting this national event in August with so many great deals on baby feeding items! While this is a sponsored post, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own and I had owned these baby items, that can all be found at Walmart, prior to this partnership. I was truly, truly amazed how many premium brands and high quality baby items could be found at Walmart, many of which include free next-day delivery! I had no idea! I definitely look at Walmart in a new light, as a top retail destination for all things baby!
This post has been long over due! I’ve thought about writing it for sometime now, even before Landyn was actually born. I thought once I had scanned all of the baby aisles and websites and made my carefully curated registry, I was a baby product pro! Boy was I wrong! Now as a mom of 2 I feel like I definitely know more than I used to but that being said I also know that every baby is different, every situation is different and what may work for one family may not work for another. So, here’s what worked for us…
iBaby Video Baby Monitor
When I first went back to work after I had Landyn I had a work trip in Oklahoma. A long weekend away from my 3 month old baby seemed like the hardest thing imaginable. I cried ugly tears all morning before I flew out. Work friends encouraging words and believe it or not, our baby monitor, made the experience much easier. The ibaby monitor allows you to be able to check on your baby on your phone wherever you are and I could see her sleeping soundly before I went to bed while I was miles and miles away. I also used it to check on Landyn when I was in the hospital having Bryce, such a huge source of comfort! We now have one in Bryce’s room too and I can watch them napping simultaneously while I get my nap time hustle on. Seriously, get this monitor, it will be your best friend and a huge comfort for date nights and anytime you have to leave your littles.
Marpac Dohm and Rohm
Named the best noise machine on the block and I swear by this one! Whether it’s nap time or we’re on vacation, its so nice to have some source of white noise to block out all the sounds that happen after the kids bedtime that may wake them from their precious, precious sleep. Landyn is a champ sleeper at this point, sleeping 8pm-8/8:30am and I am a total believer that her Marpac is a part of her successful sleeping. The final straw in our nighttime routine with her is turning on her noise machine and the second its on you can see her slowly relaxing and starting to doze. Who doesn’t want a good sleeper! This will help… promise! Oh and I just bought the Rohm because we travel enough that its nice to have a smaller version to bring on the go. We used to bring the larger Dohm but the Rohm is now our go to for trips.
Mamaroo Baby Swing
I didn’t have this swing with Landyn, it was actually gifted to us as a hand me down but if I did it over again I’d have bought one right off the bat. To get through the “witching hour” this contraption was key! At the end of a long day, that dinner time newborn meltdown is never easy and the Mamaroo saved us! It would soothe Bryce into relaxed mellow phase before bedtime and gave us some time to spend with Landyn and also a little alone time to clean up from dinner, discuss the day and just unwind a bit.
Crane Cool Mist Drop Shape Humidifier
A humidifier is a must in my option and why not have the prettiest one you can find – this is it folks! It will fit / blend into any space and gets the job done when your little is sick and they need a little extra support for helping easy the discomfort and congestion.
Dr. Browns Bottles
Since it’s National Breast Feeding Month I thought I’d touch on my experience… I breast fed both Landyn and Bryce for the first 6 months, I could go into more detail on that decision but at the end of the day #fedisbest and I feel 100% confident that those 6 months and my decision to switch to formula after those 6 months was what was best for our babies and our family. After 6 months, I used and swear by Dr. Browns Bottles. Landyn had a lot of issues with reflux and theses seemed to help the most.
Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser Humidifier
A new addition to Bryce’s nursery, I am officially obsessed with essential oils and all of the smells and benefits that they bring to us and our littles. Saving more on this for a later date but this diffuser now sits on Bryce’s dresser that’s where it’ll stay as diffusing is now part of our nighttime routine.
Boon Bottle Drying Rack
Keep your kitchen in check during those crazy new born days and month this bottle drying rack. We used it for bottles, pump parts, etc and it kept us a *little* more organized during those first few sleepless few months. We had the green and white version but there is an all white option that is little more subtle.
